Wondall Heights State School has a strong tradition of participation and achievement in sport. From beginners through to representative athletes, we support and encourage every student to grow in skill, confidence and sportsmanship.
Interschool sport: Offered to students in Years 4–6 in Semester 1, with Gala Days held in Semester 2.
School carnivals: Swimming, Cross Country and Track & Field carnivals, with high-performing students progressing to Bayside District, Metropolitan East Regional and Queensland State competitions.
School-organised sports: A variety of codes including Australian Rules Football, Basketball, Cricket, Netball, Oztag, Rugby League, Soccer, Tennis and Volleyball.
Sporting Schools program: Additional coaching and skill development opportunities through the national Sporting Schools program.
Swimming Club: A P&C-run swimming club held on Friday nights in our newly renovated 6-lane, 25m pool.
Club partnerships: Before, during and after school sport options through partnerships with AFL Queensland, Bounce Sports Tennis, Brisbane Roar Football Club, Netball Queensland and Wynnum Manly Rugby League, supporting the development of junior players.

Night lighting is available for the stand-alone tennis court and multipurpose court, which are available for hire outside school hours by contacting the school office.
