Music News
Choir has begun. See Miss Ellis if you require a choir note. Rehearsals are held in the music room.

Intermediate Choir - Thursday 8:00am

Senior Choir - Tuesday 8:00am

Dance News
Dance Team - Thursday 3:00 to 4:00pm
Great first rehearsal. Please make sure you have returned your paperwork. Costume money is
not due until the end of Term 1.
Just a reminder that siblings are not permitted at rehearsals. There were quite a few at last week’s rehearsal. The dance teachers are not responsible for these students and they are a distraction during practices. Siblings should wait at the pick up zone where there is proper supervision for them.

Instrumental Music News

Beginning Students
Lessons commenced last week and our (over 45) new students are off to a great start; learning how to put their instruments together, how to hold them correctly and how to create their initial sounds.
Next week we will be commencing use of our software program "Smart Music".  We have just been informed that the shop Binary Music has a fresh supply of the program in stock so where possible, please call and arrange your licence code (ph 3488 2230). It is possible to pay over the phone without going into the shop. Students will be learning how to use the program in lessons and will receive set up instructions then also. If you have a built in microphone on your computer then we recommend you try this out first before purchasing the special 'instrument microphone'.

Senior Students
Senior Band commenced last week and will continue to be held on Wednesday mornings before school at 7.55am in the music room. Senior lessons are also held on Wednesdays and started this week (Feb. 18th) Students should check the timetable on the music room door to find out their lesson times. From this week all senior students should be working to establish a routine of
regular playing (at least 5 days per week) for a minimum of at least 15 minutes per session. Parents and carers are asked to help find suitable times as this becomes an established part of your child's routine.
