Many thanks to Tangalooma Resort for donating a fantastic prize to us! Details of our raffle are as follows:
Tickets on sale every morning outside the school office, from Monday 31 October. See our Eco-Marine ambassadors and Support Crew to purchase tickets. Ticket price: 50c.
Raffle will be drawn and winner announced on our final assembly for the year, on Monday 5 December.

The prize is a day cruise to Tangalooma for two adults and two children, including:
Return launch transfers from Brisbane
Wild Dolphin Feeding Experience
$20 Lunch Voucher per adult
$15 Lunch Voucher per child
Full use of resort facilities

Our Eco-Marines have a few ideas for using these funds, and will make a final decision once they have a total amount raised. They are considering providing new recycling bins for every classroom, or organise some bins especially for the straws and straw packets from juice boxes (remember that 570 straws and packets were collected in just a few weeks before our fete!). They are also keen to provide a seat or two, to be placed carefully in quiet, shady spots around our school.

The Eco-Marines program aims to inspire and motivate students and teachers to care for our local waterways and marine life through education, raising awareness and taking informed action.

A message from our Eco-Marines- Turn to Tap!
Did you know that it can take up to ONE THOUSAND YEARS for a plastic water bottle to break down in the environment? And did you know that over 90% of the cost of bottled water covers the bottle, lid and label – the water is the cheapest component!
So, Turn to Tap to fill up your reusable water bottle instead … and don’t forget to take it with every time you leave the house. You will save money, and save our environment!
To remind us to bring our water bottles to school every day, we have a new challenge for Wondall. Every student has received a Turn to Tap entry form – simply design a bag tag, and bring your entry back to school. Every student who enters will receive a free water bottle, thanks to Urban Utilities.
Then, Urban Utilities’ Graphic Designer will select our best bag tag design, and it will be made into a real bag tag – one for every Wondall student! Start designing your bag tag now!
Entries can be brought to our Ambassadors in the hall each morning, or handed in to the office. Water bottles will be distributed as soon as we receive them.

Tangalooma Eco-Marines Foundation is holding a movie night… Tangalooma EcoMarines in partnership with Telstra and Souths Logan Magpies would like to invite you to our family Movie Night under the stars at Souths Leagues Club in Brisbane. All ticket sales will go towards ensuring our foundation can continue to work with early childhood centres, schools, businesses and the community to improve environmental outcomes for our waterways. Please BYO picnic rug/chair(s) and reusable water bottles. There will also be stalls at the event to purchase food or bring your own (can't watch a movie without snacks!). No alcohol please.
 When: Friday 4th November 2016 at 6:00pm
Where: Souths Leagues Club, Davies Park, West End Parking: available for $2 per car (please bring cash)
Cost: $10 (adults); $6.50 (children). Children under 5yrs are free.
Make sure you get in early to take advantage of a 25% discount on your movie tickets! Just use the code EARLYTEM before the 18th of October 2016. Thank you for supporting Tangalooma EcoMarines. Please note that this is NOT a Wondall event, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. https://www.stickytickets.com.au/43480/tangalooma_ecomarines_movie_night.aspx
