Well done to a pair of students who competed for Bayside District on behalf of Wondall Heights State School at the recent Metropolitan East Track & Field Carnival. Hayslee C. finished 4th in High Jump and 12th in 100m and Dante  N. finished 5th in 100m. Good results, boys!
Well done to all students on their behaviour and attitude towards their first Interschool Sports Day last Thursday. Apart from the windburn it was a positive experience with lots of play time throughout the day and we look forward to the 2nd day next term in Week 5.
Friday trainings resume this week at 2pm. Basketball group will remain at Wondall over the final two weeks of this term.
Brisbane Bayside State College Track and Field Day
Last Friday Kiah O., Ava T., Bryce D. and Jayden R. competed in a day of Athletics events and I’m informed we
finished 2nd overall as a team. Well done! Further congrats to Bryce D. who finished runner up age champion. Great work!
Funfit Gymnastics/Roar Soccer Programs Term 4
Those on the waiting list for this round of gymnastics are first on the list for next term. For the next season, we will also preference students who have not yet had a turn . Next term the Year 3 - 6 offering will be Friday 2nd lunch Weeks 1 - 4. For those of you with younger siblings, their offering will be Mondays 2nd lunch Weeks 5 - 8. A new batch of forms will be available to collect this Friday when we gather for sport (YRS 3-6) or from the office (YRS P-2).
We will also be offering a Brisbane Roar morning program for 4 weeks for 30 students starting Tuesday Week 3 (October 20). This is only open to Years 3 – 6 and forms for this will be available in Week 1 next term. First in best dressed after those pre-requisite details mentioned earlier for both of these programs.
These sessions will run Wednesday afternoons from Week 3 October 21 for 6 weeks. There is a cost involved but students receive their sessions and some equipment to keep within the cost. Forms for this will be available Week 2 in Term 4.
Stay Fit Over the Holidays
With Spring upon us again it is a great time to go for a run, swim or ride. There are many organised activities with some free of charge on offer over the holidays and weekends. Whether it is a park run, a swim at the bay or beach or a casual ride with friends.
Get active over the holidays and feel fit and great.
