Calling all enthusiastic Wondall learners! Would you like to pit yourself against students all over Australia? Have a practice at external testing? Challenge yourself to do your best in your favourite Learning Areas? ICAS may be for you!
ICAS information has been sent home this week. ICAS is an annual assessment program designed and delivered by Educational Assessment Australia, a not-for-profit arm of the University of NSW. The tests are conducted annually in more than twenty countries. ICAS gives our students the opportunity to participate in skills-based tests in Key Learning Areas. Student results are mapped against all students sitting the same year-level test in Australia. Achievement Certificates are presented to all participants.
Tests are conducted at school at 9:00am on the sitting date. There is a cost to parents. Details are:
Digital Technologies  Tues 19 May  $    8.00
Science                      Wed 3 June  $    8.00
Spelling                     Tues 16 June  $  11.00 (additional cost as tests are hand-    marked)
Writing                      Wed 17 June  $  17.00 (additional cost as tests are hand-marked)
English                      Tues 28 July  $    8.00
Mathematics              Tues 11 August  $    8.00
If you would like your child to participate in ICAS please return the permission slip with correct payment amount by Thursday 19 March 2015. Addition information letters are available from the office.  Please note: our year 4 and 5
instrumental music students MAY be on a day camp during the week of the science ICAS test. For this test only, we will arrange an extra sitting time of 7:30am so that students can then attend their Music Camp.
