Author in Residence

Author in Residence – Samantha Wheeler is visiting us.

We are very excited – next week is our Author in Residence week.
Samantha Wheeler is a local author who lives in the Redlands. After a childhood of rescuing puppies, kittens and many unusual animals, Samantha went on to study agriculture, work with dairy farmers, and teach science and
biology. Living in the Redlands with her husband, two gorgeous daughters, two dogs, one cat, two goats, three horses, five chooks, one budgie and two sheep, she loves seeing koalas in the local trees and bats flitting across the night skies.
Samantha has three published books. Her first book, Smooch & Rose was inspired by her concern for koalas, and her second, Spud & Charli, is a heart racing adventure which tackles the issues of bats, Hendra virus and imaginations running wild. Her third book, Mister Cassowary, is due for release in a few weeks. Samantha is keen to donate some copies of her new book to our school library.
Samantha hopes to inspire children of all ages with her stories, striving to show that anyone can make a difference.
This event has been funded by our P&C, and every student at Wondall will have the opportunity to meet and work with Samantha during the week. We thank the P&C for their support of this program, and welcome Samantha to
wonderful Wondall!
We have a few special events planned. Please join us for:
Assembly, Monday 14 September: Samantha will attend our whole-school assembly and introduce herself to us.
